Some people do New Year's resolutions, some don't, and some people choose the same one every year. Why New Years? It's simple... it's X-tra Motivation. It's a clean start, a fresh new look at a fresh new year. It's why people always start diets on a Monday (see Monday for President post).
I encourage anyone who reads this to have three New Years Resolutions. One big one, and two things to make a conscious effort in "working on". If there is nothing you want to change, then you must be perfect (Practice Makes Perfect? and Dangerously Perfect) Two recent posts, have shown us, there is no perfect, so please get off your high horse and think of those things that you'd like to improve about you. Is it your patience, your trucker mouth, how many times a week you go to the gym, your expensive and less appealing ciggy habit, your lack of a hobby, your efforts to see more family, an increasing urge to want to volunteer somewhere, a focus on a new career, there's got to be something. These things aren't huge, but when placed as a focus in your mind and the X-tra Motivation of a New Year and a better you... I'm sure you will see some sort of change.
I have three and they are all going to be really challenging for me, but I love a challenge! Especially when there is a prize to be won. The prize you ask? A better life lived...I can't think of something more rewarding than that. It all might sound a little corny, but when is the last time you really stream-lined your focus of you on one or two things and had the X-treme Motivation of a New Year to back you up. Last year? Well it's about time you tee up my friend...
Welcoming 2011 with open arms....
