What's In A Name?

Your name along with a few other things is what defines you.  We've all been in a situation when you meet about twenty or so people in twenty or so minutes and we know we are not going to remember any of their names.  You hear people say all the time "I'm really bad with names".  I'm not sure that's necessarily true.  When you meet someone, this is your chance to MAKE them remember your name.  Look them in the eyes, shake their hand firmly while you do it, and say your name as if you are claiming your stake, slowly, confidently and leave them wanting more.

Next time you are in that social situation try to pay attention as to how others are introducing themselves to you.  Who do you remember and why?  Whoever it is...you remember them for a reason, they were interesting, maybe attractive and most importantly, I'm willing to bet they were confident about it.  They made you feel as though you should remember them.

Nothing makes a person feel more dismissed then shaking their hand, "nice to meet you", while looking over their shoulder to see who else is there.  It's less than a one minute interaction, give them your undivided attention, otherwise...down the road, you won't get theirs and you never know if you may want it or need it.

Many stubborn and ignorant people walk around making comments like "I don't care what others think of me". Well buddy, I have news for you...What others think of you, is probably 95% true, and you have led them to think that with your actions.  That's mainly those people's excuses to continue acting like an ass.  It is important how people view us and it's most definitely important how we introduce ourselves.  So smile, look em in the eye, and go get em girl!
