The Truth of the Matter

I can't say I've never lied about anything, I don't think anyone can.  I can't say that I've never opted not to tell someone something, but then again I don't necessarily think that's lying.  What I can say is the truth is definitely more exciting.  There something relieving, something edgy and something to be said for truth telling.  As years have gone by I've learned a few important lessons and honesty is one of them.  It may get me in trouble sometimes, I'm know it's pissed people off before, but I sleep at night and am not trying to suppress my guilt afterwards.

What is it with people lying?  You lie when you feel shitty about yourself.  Whether it's guilt because you've done something you shouldn't have, you're a loser in whatever it is you're lying about and in order to make yourself feel better you lie about it  or better yet, to continue your fantasy world that you've been lying about all along instead just giving it a break already. Keep building that snowball.

I don't get it.  I get maybe to tell a lie here and there.  Sometimes people in our lives expect ridiculous things out of us and in order to get out of them, you have to lie.  Really though?  Think about how much more exciting it would be to just tell people how you feel.  Old people do it, and so don't kids.  I mean...why can't we?  We are all constantly doing things we don't want to do just to suffice other people.  Cosby's old show "Kids say the Darndest Things"...yeah because they arn't worried about what everyone is thinking.  Once you reach a certain age, you also stop giving a rat's ass what people think.  Senior Citizens, they'll tell ya what's on their mind, and I doubt any of it is a lie. 

Now this isn't a Get Selfish post.  If you thoroughly hate doing things for, or with other people or even going places then you clearly need a larger lesson, mostly being that fact that you are alive and no one is getting any younger so get happy and get movin on life!  This is a lesson on being true to yourself, and to the people around you.  No one likes a liar, and if they do...they're Lying!
