THAT'S SO DC

Back from the Nation's Capitol and I had a blast!  I will say that traveling with a male friend is so low maintenance.  Nick was awesome, we seriously laughed the entire time.  Some of the museums were a let down, but as anyone who has asked me how my trip was knows, I'm a little bit obsessed with the Newseum.  I recommend it ten fold to anyone who is going or has not yet been.  Although what started off as a trip to visit a cousin, I think I saw her for a total of 4 hours, so thank god I didn't ride solo on this one.

What i will say about DC is it seems as though everyone who lives there, does not site see, which makes me sad.  I understand it's a huge tourist attraction, but these people have all of the Smithsonian museums and a ton of history in their backyard and they don't bother to take advantage of it unless a visitor comes to town.  The other major thing is there were so many ugly people there it wasn't even funny.  I mean we literally would go an entire day and only see a dozen or so of good looking people and think we may have even lower our standards to find them.  Although the District of Columbia is suppose to be one of the smartest per capita places in the country, we must have met a lot of the percentage that is bringing that number down.  People were ignorant, and some just plain stupid.  If they are smart, they sure as hell were not doing a lot of thinking.

Georgetown was beautiful, I'd like to go back and spend some more time there. College town...no metro stop so it's not overly crowded with stupid people and it has little shops and restaurants.  I need to throw a shout out to my cousin that hooked us up with a stay at the Ritz and Pa Dukes for Flyer Miles ;) I swear I'm beginning to realize that staying anywhere other than the Ritz might become hard in my future.  Hanging out in the Steam Room for an hour on Saturday morning and then returning with the shiniest granny smith apple I've ever seen and some fresh cucumber water could easily become a daily traveling routine.  Also, fact that they serve you cashews, peanuts and a delicious sweet and salty trail mix (you know the one with the fake m&ms) with your drink and not just mini pretzels or goldfish like the other hotel is just reason enough.

What I've come back with is a greater knowledge about journalism (Newseum) the same knowledge about fossils (Natural History) that being a spy requires a lot of time and effort (Spy Museum), a better understanding of the Washington DC Metro system (which is ridiculously clean by the way), a new found better bond and love with my good ole buddy Nicholas, a better confirmation that my cousin who lives there is a spolied brat (sorry girl), a desire to go back again, AND the best yet....a new word.  "DC"  I will use it in a sentence.  "I can't even talk to him anymore he is so DC."  Dumb and Kinda Bobo looking.  Pretty much sums up almost everyone we came across down there (minus of course people we already knew and the staff at the hotels). I really shouldn't be complaining, I felt like a supermodel brain surgeon.
